Phoenix Masters Swimming Club was formed in August 2020 following a long break for swimmers as a result of the Covid 19 Pandemic restrictions. A group of existing Masters swimmers decided to form their own club based at Immanuel College pool aiming to attract adult swimmers associated with that pool to Masters swimming. The vision of the club is to cater for swimmers whatever their level of involvement in pool and open water swimming.
Embracing the motto of Masters Swimming Australia of “Fitness, Friendship and Fun“.
The Club’s first swim session was conducted on 29th August 2020 and on 13th September 2020 eleven members of the Club competed for the first time as a team in the short course State Cup – ranking a creditable third overall.
During the Club’s first five years there have been many highlights with the club being very successful in pool competitions and with many members achieving State and National records along the way. We always have a team in the OWS events and we have had teams entered in the annual MSA National meets. Check out our virtual trophy cabinet in the Results section.
Our coaching team has grown to five nationally accredited coaches who all volunteer their time and share their passion and knowledge with us all.
We had to move from Immanuel College pool at the end of 2024 as their junior programs required more space and we then moved to Westminster School pool.
2025 will see Phoenix Masters swim outdoors on Saturday morning all through winter, a challenge which we hope will also raise funds for cancer research.
Our ultimate aim is to move to the new Adelaide Aquatic Centre when it is completed in the summer of 2025-2026.
